Bubinga is an exotic wood native to Africa, and is very similar to rosewood. The wood is hard, with a reddish brown color, and lustrous figure. Some of the wood features darker grain striping. Bubinga has good working characteristics, making it a favorite for turning and carving, furniture, veneer, and cabinetry. It has a fine texture and finishes very smoothly, with a lustrous and almost glassy look.
